Scotch Yoke Mechanism

The scotch yoke is a simple mechanism for converting rotary motion into reciprocating (back and forth) motion. I've added a couple of blog posts to the website with animations showing how the standard scotch yoke works and how dwell is added

Of course if you really want to understand how the scotch yoke mechanism works you need to play with one first hand. Well now you can! I've added a scotch yoke project to the site for you to download, make and experiment with. Members can download the parts for free, non-members for the usual £2.50.

Check out the website to see the youtube video of the scotch yoke in action and to see how it is made. What will you use your for?

Pull-the-tab envelope

I had a fun afternoon designing an envelope to send stuff to #1 Daughter at University. the Final design uses a rip tab as an intersting quick opener.
