A section of chains from the classic IKB picture should finish the back off nicely.

I'm ignoring Smelter's facebook prods – paper chains? This is IKB not Father Christmas.

(That said I'll probably give it a go and see how it looks.)

Referring to original IKB pictures I decided to give the side-burns a little depth.

This simple fold of paper seems quite effective.

And here he stands. The back board is 20mm short but looking promising I think. 

I'm going to have a go at  making a corrugated card box with sliding sleeve to fit the whole thing in.
