Early Bird with Geneva Stop Drive

Michael Hengsbach from Berlin has posted a couple of comments on the Early Bird model as well as this splendid YouTube video. Michael has added a geneva stop drive to my Early Bird model, the result is just fantastic! Thanks Michael!

    Had a look at this and then went for a long, distracted meander round YouTube (it is ever thus).

    Can see how Geneva drive works, but what are the advantages of using it? ('scuse me being a bear of small brain, but there it is)

      The advantage is if

      The advantage is if you want to run this model using a dc motor or servo motor…Rob’s all the models can be automated with little simple electronics – this model was an exception… that is until now. Thank you, Michael for thinking his out and thank you Rob for your original work.

      The making of  kinetic paper models makes much joy. Especially when the movement finally works. For an addition of a model is the only sense of fun at the idea, drawing, cutting, gluing, good function. Nothing more.
