I've completed a final stage prototype for the cam & cam mechanism. I've changed the cam profile to be smoother. and moved some of the parts around inside the box so that everything fits together better.

Instead of using a saw-tooth cam profile I've used a cam profile made from circle shaped lobes. This helps to smooth out the motion of the slider which was a bit staccato in the earlier version.

I've also moved the outer cam-followers higher up to account for the extra height of the triangular ends. Once boxed up and complete the model works well. I'll be packaging it up to make a member's download so you'll be able to use it as a basis for your own designs.
