I’ve finished off my one-off applause machine ready for presentation at a Higham Hall event tomorrow.
The main drive is a two-lobed cam pushing up against a wheeled axle and finally operating the hand linkage. The actual clapping mech is inspired by the excellent work of Martin Smith go follow him on Instagram!

The text on the plaque is made by creating an outline in Illustrator then setting the laser cutter to very low power such that the wood is burned but not all the way through.
