Newton’s Balls
Mon, 2 Nov 2009I meant to point out that I've changed the shape of the balls. Still, I had the camera out again taking photographs of #1 daughter's artwork for an 'A' level report she's doing so I took a close up of a single ball so that you can see the shape in all it's glory. 'Ah', I hear you say, 'looks like a truncated octahedron' and of course, you are right.
I changed to this shape so that the hangers fit in place better. It also means that I can have two flat surfaces meeting where adjacent balls meet.
Meanwhile – for your delight and edification I present Martha's 'Sprite Plant' which I think looks curiously fern like.
Time for a glass of red I think.
