Steamy Joe

This worked best at my second attempt using heavier card (210 gsm) really clear strong whistle!

For the bellows I  scored all the dotted lines well, then folded and pressed flat each horizontal fold forward AND back (hill & valley).

I then wrapped the sheet around a bottle ( a good Madiera works well!) and glued it end to end and THEN formed the concertina folds - worked a treat.

Not sure about a train but a model organ is definitely 'on the cards' (Ho ho ho).

I have the plans for a wooden crank-operated 'busker's organ' and plan to have a go at converting it to paper and card.... I'll let you know how it goes.

Cheers!

Rob, you're a genius! I was so amazed when it actually worked! All of your papercraft models are very impressive. An idea is to make this into a papercraft train. Tell me what you think about it.

I've always loved this model! I made it ages ago and I still think it is one of the most intriguing models that I know.
