Just saw the paper butterfly movie on youtube. It's completely BRILLIANT! If you haven't seen it, take a look. I think Rob has created a work of genius, the movement is astonishingly realistic. It's a fantastic achievement, considering it's really quite a simple mechanism. Congratulations, Rob!

Dear Rob,
I have made your paper butterfly, but it does not fly as easily as yours. As I live in Germany I have used four 5 Euro cent coins, each of which weighs 4 grams. Is this the reason why it does not fly as easily as yours?

Sorry to hear that your butterfly isn't working as well as you had hoped. The coin weight should be plenty so here are a few other things you could check.
Make sure there is no glue on the hinge creases. Make sure that the push rods are not touching on the sides of the holes. Did you use thin paper for the hinges? Bend the hinges back and forth few times to make sure that they are moving easily.
Try those out and let me know how you go.
