Special offer for the month of July - August 2011. I'm offering 10% on annual membership and membership plus and school memberships. It's like you're getting more than a month membership for free!

As you probably know this website is how I make my living. Around two thirds of my income comes from subscriptions. I literally couldn't do this without the support of my subscribers, thank you to you all!

There are a few other websites out there that use the subscription model, I'm subscribed to a couple of them myself. One of the common features that I'm beginning to see on subscription based sites is the option to allow subscribers to pay a higher rate if they are able and willing. Not one to walk past an interesting idea untried I have added a similar option to robives.com. If you are willing and able to support me at a higher than standard rate I have set up Membership+ Levels 2, 3 and 4. Members of these new levels will receive the full benefit of membership+ as well as a few extra little treats. See the page Extra page for more details.

I've been working on a mix of research (I'm investigating clock escapements) and background website maintainence. In my spare moments I've uploaded a newsletter highlighting the Oz bookmark. You know that you can view all the old news letters by clicking on the 'Email Newsletter' link right?

I've been working on the Flying Pig web site most of the day. I've added some models to the shop, realised that I hadn't put tags on may of the products and spent ages checking and editing. It's one of those half brain jobs you can do whilst listening to audio so I've been catching up on some of my favourite podcasts.

I finished the evening off by writing a news letter. If you are signed up it'll be with you soon. If not, you can sign up top right of this page.

Another day of website development - it really does suck up the time! Very satisfying though. When I was a student I used to pull all-nighters writing computer programs to draw fractal crystals in C on my z80 based Amstrad PCW. Can't seem to do that anymore - I think familiy life uses more energy than student life :-) Either that or I get up somewhat earlier than I did when I was a student.

I've posted the weekly newsletter for this week. If you are already subscibed you should receive it later today. Don't forget that if you are on the old server you'll need to move to the new one if you want to keep receiving it.
