I've found another project that I had originally posted on the Flying Pig website many years ago. If you are a member you can download it at the link. It is one that I am particularly fond of so I'm a little surprised that I'd forgotten about it. I reckon it could make an interesting pendulum powered model...

A model to bridge the gap between the precision of the cardboard engineer and the philosophy of the Zen Monk.
Consider the sound of the one hand clap.
Through the crank and the cam the cardboard engineer can stroll through the garden of enlightenment and dip a toe in the pool of infinity. Print out the model and follow the instructions for construction.
Enlightenment awaits.

I'm not quite sure where I found this, but I've downloaded it from somewhere. Never opened the file, so didn't know it was yours. I'll try to find where I found it.
There is a bulletin board (not a polite one - such language) where I found a number of your projects, including the flying swan you made for someone in Japan.
This could be where I found Zen. As I said, I can't remember. I'm sorry I didn't bring this to your attention sooner.
Thanks for letting me know Tamara, I'll check into it. - RI

Rob,
Zen and the art of Cardboard Engineering was the very first FP automata (actually the first paper automata ever) that I downloaded and built. I still have it, but it is getting pretty worn out after the years of use and demonstration. Glad to have a new model to replace it.
Cool! According to stats the file was created in 1999. A millenium ago! - RI

I picked up your idea about the pendulum power, Rob. Why not reuse the pendulum in box experiments an add the clapping hand to the boxes? Pretty rough - but they work fine.
I built the original zen-automata in 2004. Also one of my first paper models, years after those I built in my youth.
