I received another papercraft holiday card this morning. Sent by Eric Dyer the design is simple, elegant and really rather nice! The whole cube folds flat to pop into an envelope then, rather than an elastic band, it is simply a case of pulling the green string and the card folds up into a cube. I'm guessing that Eric has used a plotter cutter to cut out the intricate snow-flake designs on the sides, either than or he a lot more patience than me.

Thanks Eric, it's lovely!

The snowflake cutouts were just a big snowflake-shaped hole punch that my wife found.  (I admit that doing one was pretty easy, but a hundred was more than I was really ready for!)

Happy to hear it made it, and that you enjoyed it!

The design was also completely inspired by your earlier pop-up cube experiments, if that wasn't obvious. The string made it interactive, something for the reader to do; a bit of a surprise. Also (if you got it in time for xmas, which nobody did because I didn't put enough postage on them) the strings also served as hooks allowing them to be used as ornaments for the tree.

I wish I could have this pattern as well as the mouse card from another day! Is it possible? Nice pictures!

Oh, dear, thanks for helping. I found them simple and magic! That's the appealing and attraction of the models.

Here's a PDF of the popup. I modified the text to just say "Happy Holidays".

If Rob wants to keep a copy here, please do!

My wife pointed me to her source for the snowflake punch: Martha Stewart! http://marthastewartcrafts.eksuccessbrands.com/Product/Artic+Snowflake+Punch.aspx
