A space-frame dodecahedron for members to download and make. Download the file at the link and print out the two pages onto thin card. (230 gsm / 230 micron) Score along the dotted lines  - there are loads of them! Cut out the holes before carefully cutting out the two pieces.  

Pre-fold along all the dashed lines to ensure that the creases are crisp and sharp.


Glue together each half as shown above making a half sphere.


Join the two halves together.


Fold the flaps inwards and glue them together to make triangular section tubes. The result is a dodecahedron that is light but surprisingly strong. Print it onto coloured card to make an early Christmas decoration!

I've been making icosohedron Christmas ornaments since my teens. I'd love to see a pattern for a space frame version of that.
